What is Ledger?

Ledger makes hardware wallets that keep your private keys offline and under your control. Ledger Live is the companion app for managing your crypto assets and exploring supported services.

Why should I use a Ledger wallet?

A hardware wallet adds a dedicated layer of protection: your private keys remain isolated from internet-connected devices, while you review and approve transactions directly on your device.

What should I have ready before setup?

Have your Ledger device, a trusted computer or smartphone, and a few uninterrupted minutes ready. Only purchase devices from Ledger or an authorized reseller, and never share your 24-word recovery phrase.

Will Ledger ever ask for my recovery phrase?

No. Ledger will never ask you to enter or share your recovery phrase online, by email, or with support. Anyone who asks for it is attempting to steal your assets.
